This was inspired by that post over on lion_lamb about how the hell Bella fell in love with Jacob, and I've been wondering what SM will have to say, through Bella, on the subject of her feelings for Jacob in "Breaking Dawn." I'm curious what you guys think will happen.

Poll #1189202 Bella's Feelings for Jacob in "Breaking Dawn"

What will Bella say about her feelings for Jacob in "Breaking Dawn"?

She was mistaken in "Eclipse"; the feelings are not as strong as she thought
Re-affirm that her thoughts in "Eclipse" still hold true
Her feelings for him are growing even stronger

Much is made of the werewolf/vampire rivalry in Eclipse. I have some thoughts about that and about how it affects the way readers relate to Edward/Bella versus Jacob/Bella. I'm starting off with the assumption (that IMO is very obvious) that the series is about Edward/Bella and that they will of course end up together. A lot of fans shy away from this pairing, though, and for a variety of reasons. You may hear about Edward's personality, about what Bella will lose from her humanity, about Edward's age, etc. I think we are actually talking here about Edward's culture. His personality, the parts of him that aren't human, even his age (which is unique-- he is neither seventeen nor a hundred, but somehow both, too), are aspects of his culture as a vampire.

Hey everyone!

I thought it would be interesting to have a discussion on what books you think Edward would read. We know a lot about Bella's preferred literature (as it's basically Stephenie's and mentioned often), but we know very little about what Edward reads.

There are a few things we do know:
1 - Edward likes books. In Twilight when they are in the 'interrogation' stage, Bella says he questions about 'books, endlessly books.' Also, in the movie trailer, there are tons of books in his room and on his floor.

2 - He's not a big Bronte fan. He didn't understand why Bella read "Wuthering Heights" so often.

3 - He knows his Shakespeare.

What books do you think he'd like?

Personally, I think he'd like Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment
For those who haven't read it yet, (I seriously recommend you read it ASAP), it's about a young man whose life is twisted by guilt for a murder he committed in desperate circumstances and he spends the entire books looking for salvation and redemption for his sins.

It's good to see a legitimate news source pointing out this issue. Of course there is an influx of "you're just jealous" and "the cast loves the support" comments, but hopefully they will step back and take a good hard look at reality now.

Yay sequels being filmed together!

Discuss. If you comment asking if there's going to be a book 5 or if they're going to be combining books into one movie I will cut you. Not in a Livejournal way. I will come to your house and cause physical harm.
